Musical Groups

Apart from our weekly worship teams, there are a variety of ways for people to participate in music ministries throughout the year.  For information on how you can be involved, feel free to contact our Associate Worship & Arts Pastor, Eldon McBride, at 604-531-4733, ext 337.

Choir

The adult choir sings regularly in the 9:00am service and occasionally in the 11:15 service.  In addition, we enjoy participating in major concert events at Christmas and Easter.  Rehearsals are held in the Chapel on Thursday evenings from 7:15 until 9:00pm.  We are always looking for new members, so come and bless us with your singing talents.  Contact Pastor Eldon to schedule a low-stress audition and personal interview. 

This group does not rehearse regularly but meets according to the interest and availability of men who would like to sing together.  For further information, please contact Donald Foster at (604) 542-0766.

orchestra

Our orchestra currently participates in the Christmas and Easter musicals.  We are looking for experienced instrumentalists of all kinds.  A minimum Grade 8 level of training, or previous orchestral experience, is preferred.

This choir of enthusiastic children is thriving under the direction of Lori-Jean Ma.  Rehearsals are held in the Chapel on Tuesdays from 5:00 until 6:15pm.  All young singers in Grades 2-6 are welcome!  Please contact Lori-Jean for further information.

We are always on the lookout for instrumentalists who are available for service preludes and special music.  This includes musicians with proficiency in piano, organ, strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion.  We can provide ministry opportunities for soloists as well as those who would prefer to be involved in ensembles such as brass or string quartets.  If you have a talent that you would like to use, please step forward!

vocalists

Peace Portal is blessed with many fine singers who are using their talents in our church services - either as soloists or ensemble members.  If you are an experienced singer who would like to be involved in ministry in some way, please let us know.  We will do our best to find an opportunity for you to serve.

special events

At key times of the year, Peace Portal prepares a variety of artistic events for both church and community that step outside the normal bounds of our regular meeting times.  Such experiences not only utilize many gifts, but build the church and reach out to the broader community.  We need people with all kinds of skills and interests - handymen, writers, painters, hosts, ushers, promoters, actors, musicians - you name it, we would love your help!
